Luxury Bathroom

Walkin Showers

You have seen examples of a luxury designer bathroom in all the architectural magazines. You stop to look at how the large shower makes the room seem even bigger than it is.

Or perhaps it's an elevated corner bath that sits in the junction of two windows, flooding the room with natural sunlight, giving everything in the bathroom a warm, luxurious feeling.

You can almost feel the thick towels stacked by the sauna and the heavy carpeting beneath your feet. You can picture yourself walking into your designer bathroom early in the morning, still half asleep.

One of the things that makes your morning wake up so enjoyable is walking into your luxury bathroom and into your walk in shower. You don’t have to be awake to remember to pick up your foot to step over the edge with the water stop. The amount of hot water pouring over your body makes waking up an all right thing. Your body will respond to the fresh scrubbed feeling and your mind will be awake, sharp and ready for the day.

Keep your vision of how you want it to look and feel, because the planning stage is an important juncture in reaching that final reality of what you want in your designer bathroom.

Heating is one consideration. If you have chosen tile or stone for the flooring, a cold floor makes for grumpy feet, while underfloor heating can bring a smile to even the grumpiest of us.

Heated Towel Rack

Another detail to consider is installing Towel Warmers. There is just something luxurious about wrapping your body in a big warm bath sheet that warms you to the bone. Having heated towels when you get out of the shower or bath is certainly a personal perk that can be enjoyed by a few who think ahead when they plan their designer bathroom. Talk about bringing a smile to your face.Rustic Bathroom

In one of our master baths we added a small counter space where we had a coffee maker, a small refrigerator and a sink that was deep enough to easily fill the coffee pot. The idea was to set the coffee maker up the night before to automatically make coffee in the morning. That way, when we got out of the shower, we could pour ourselves a fresh cup of coffee. It was a nice touch.

Remember that a luxury bathroom is one that may have the look of a designer bathroom, but the real luxury is …you are the designer.
